This is one I worked on last summer. It's a collection of Oscar winners and nominees for animation since the early days. It's being released February 12th.One great thing about it, is that it represents different worlds of classic animation, by including all the libraries under the WB umbrella. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies are here, but Popeye, Tom & Jerry, Droopy and Superman are among the winners and nominees as well. This is considered the best of the best.

Pretty cool! What all did you do on these?
I supervise the audio restoration, which means I have help. Basically I find the old film elements in any one of the umpteen vaults WB uses to store everything they have; then I conform it to the picture track I'm given by the guy in charge of that side of things.
Once it's all together, I send it to a facility in Burbank that runs "sonic solutions" on it to get out as much noise, crackle, pops, etc, then lay it back to D5 or HD Cam, then it goes to authoring. We don't over process the tracks, 'cause too much sonic and you will suck the life out of the track. We just bring it to acceptable levels of vintageness.
I like these restoration projects, 'cause WB's careful about not changing or adding to anything, but just restoring what's already there, and not editing out any of the cartoon's content. They are what they are, even the non-PC ones.
Right now I'm working on Golden Collection - Volume 6. It will come out in the fall sometime. Vols 1-5 are on the shelves already, and if you're looking into getting some of the collections of classic Looney Tunes, I suggest starting with Volumes 1 & 4. Those are my favorites... so far.

I'm proud of you, man. I always thought you were a pretty talented guy, and I must admit, I was skeptical when you told me you were moving out to CA. But you've obviously done great for yourself.
You're a good guy. I always felt that. It's great to see you doing cool things, and succeeding. The last time I checked, I didn't have any Emmys, unless one came in the mail Saturday.
Here's a random thought: Remember when our band tried to play "Message in a Bottle" and it just wouldn't work with the three guitar players?

Yeah, not too many songs do work with 3 guitars, do they? Those were interesting days, weren't they? Great times, and sometimes great music, but I wouldn't really want to relive it.
