I sit in an Aeron chair (like the above) everyday at Warner Bros. It's funny. They seem to have them everywhere except in the bathroom stalls. I'm used to them, and I think I love them.
Unfortunately, my home studio furniture budget ran out when it came to the chair, and since I'm sitting in this "Office Depot Special" at least as much as my WB chair, my body thinks it's being punished half of the time.
One day my home studio chair will be put out to pasture, and I will graduate to the Aeron dream chair 24/7. (Problem is, I haven't figured out how to sneak one home yet.)

My husband says the same thing about those office chairs. He's been trying to convince his boss for the past few years to spring for the best. Meanwhile... back at the ranch... I recieved a new chair for my birthday last year. It's nice, but it ain't no Aeron!!
Maybe you could paint your office chair--spruce it up a bit!!
There are a couple of those beauties at our shop. Mark Mangini has one of 'em. He seems to notice fairly quickly when it's been replaced. We're moving to a new building soon, maybe I'll get lucky.
I understand that Walter Murch stands at his workstation while he cuts...
Yeah, I saw that in the "Cutting Edge" documentary, where he stands with knees bent, and has his hand on the keyboard "like a gunslinger" as he puts it. I think that would be a cool way to work actually.
I dunno, I like sitting. It's part a) laziness, and 2) I've gotten used to rolling around moving everywhere in my chair as I work.
BTW Mark, DUDE, shoot me an email, we have much to discuss...
